Who doesn’t love Game Of Thrones? Now you can take that love to a new level with the Game Of Thrones Ice Hotel! Located 120 miles above the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, this hotel is not for the cold blooded. (Cold blooded killers exempt) It took 20 million kilos of snow, and 350,000 kilos of clear natural ice to make this hotel of 30 rooms, and don’t think they missed a single detail!
To keep it from melting, the hotel is kept at a comfortable -2 to -5 degrees. Stay cozy with high quality thermal sleeping bags, although it still might be difficult to sleep under the piercing blue gaze of the white walkers carved into the walls…
Completely filled with ice sculptures made by artists from around the world, there’s no shortage of things to discover in these halls. (It even includes an ice chapel!) And of course, the infamous iron throne, though made with a little more ice than iron here.
Looking for a little more excitement? Try the dragon ice slide or the ice bar/restaurant where you can get your drinks served up in a glass made of ice.
The Ice Hotel is open until April 30, 2019 with double rooms starting from €220 (around $270) and the snow suites from €294 (around $360). And for those of you that aren’t so fond of the cold, there are plenty of accommodation options that don’t involve sleeping on a giant ice cube.
