Ancient civilizations have shown us how the old world connects with the new. The lost city of Petra, Jordan is one of the ancient’s world’s mysteries that keeps surprising.

Petra was the capital city of the Arab Nabataeans and was known as Raqmu. It was lost to the world for centuries until it was discovered again in 1812 by the explorer Jean Louis Burckhardt.

The remains of their innovative networks of water capture, storage, transport, and irrigation systems can still be seen in this ancient architectural marvel. Currently, only about 15% of the city  has been uncovered meaning there are many more surprises to come!

Este é o Monastério, um dos mais belos monumentos presentes em Petra. Ele fica bem mais distante do que o famoso Tesouro (monumento que costuma aparecer nas fotos da cidade perdida), sendo preciso uma caminhada de cerca de 4Km, envolvendo subida no trecho final.
